About Cal AI
Cal AI is a calorie tracker for iPhone and Android made by BeeStudio. You take a photo of a meal, the app suggests what is on the plate with calories, protein, carbs and fat, and you correct it before it goes into your diary.
How the estimate works
The app recognises the dish and estimates its calories from the photo. If it guessed wrong, pick one of the alternatives it offers, set the portion in grams or correct the calories before saving. A meal without a photo can be added by hand with its name and calories.
A photo gives an estimate, not a lab result: the camera cannot see oil in the pan or sugar in a drink.
